Cranberry Banana Jam
3 3/4 c fresh cranberries, chopped
1 1/2 c water
7 c sugar
2 c mashed bananas
3-oz. package liquid fruit pectin

Combine cranberries and water in a 5 quart dutch oven or large kettle. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Stir in sugar and bananas. Bring to a hard boil; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in pectin. Skim off foam. Spoon mixture at once into hot sterilized 1/2 pint jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Wipe jar rims; adjust lids and rings. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes. (Start timing when the water boils) Approximate yield: 8 half-pints.
