Soybean Bread
2 cups of boiling water or milk
2 cups of soy bean flour
1 tablespoon of shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 compressed yeast cake
All-purpose flour

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water. Add shortening, sugar, and salt to scalded milk or water. Add softened yeast to milk after it has cooled to lukewarm temperature Add soy bean flour gradually making a stiff dough that can be easily handled (if needed, add all-purpose flour to achieve the correct consistency). Knead dough quickly and lightly until it is smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl. Cover and set in a warm place until dough doubles in bulk. Punch down dough and shape into loaves. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour, or until top is golden brown.
